Groupe Berkem Société anonyme operates in the chemical industry. The company engages in the extraction and manufacture of plant extracts for food supplements, and floral waters, as well as natural active ingredients for cosmetics and agri-food markets. It is also involved in freeze-drying for the cosmetics, agri-food, and food supplements sector, as well as pharmaceutical sector by preserving diagnostic reagents. In addition, the company offers a range of preventive bio-based solutions for the preservation of wood and its derivatives for the wood industry under the AXIL brand; and various curative and/or preventive treatments for wooden materials for the protection of buildings after their construction under the XILIX name, as well as SYNERKEM name for application in 3D protection, public, agriculture, textile, and rural and occupational hygiene. Further, it engages in the formulation of alkyd resins primarily used in printing inks for industrial market. The company was founded in 1964 and is based in Blanquefort, France.
